A disaster recovery center has been opened in Dublin by FEMA

WITNESS NEWS DUBLIN, Va. There are now four Disaster Recovery Centers in Virginia run by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The New River Valley Fairgrounds were the site of the grand opening on Monday, October 14 at 8 a.m.

To apply for help in person, FEMA says people can go to one of the DRCs. They can also apply online, over the phone, or through the FEMA mobile app.

For FEMA, Kelly Magarity is in charge of public affairs.

She told WDBJ7 on Monday morning, “We really hope that everyone who is affected comes in or applies online or over the phone.” “All we want to do is help people.”

Alexandria, Independence, and Tazewell are the other three cities in Virginia that have Disaster Recovery Centers. The people at FEMA say that more are on the way.
