Bethenny King was surprised by a redeployment in Veterans Voices.:- (WFXR) — in DUBLIN, Virginia For Bethenny King, a freshman volleyball player from Pulaski County,
Volleyball is a sport that she adores performing…Family is something that she loves even more than food. During the junior varsity volleyball match between Pulaski County and Carroll County on October 7th, Bethenny’s brother, Shaun King,
Who is a senior airman in the United States Air Force, and his wife, Samantha Lippert, surprised Bethenny by attending the game.
Because King and Lippert were away on military duty for fourteen months, this was the first time the siblings had seen each other in that time.
In my mind, I was under the impression that they were going to be significant teachers rather than my brother. According to Bethenny King, “I was anticipating it, but the moment I turned around, I was filled with joy and happiness that he was here.”
There was a request made by Bethenny’s mother to her coach, Duane Minnick, seeking assistance in surprising her daughter. Coach Minnick was overjoyed to be of assistance.
“Mrs. King texted me and came up to me after the game and said, “How do you know I want to surprise Bethenny my son’s coming in she hasn’t seen him in a long time and she started to kind of go into that and talking about him being in the military
How long it has been and she said we can do something like absolutely you know,” said Minnick. “I want to surprise Bethenny because she hasn’t seen him in a long time.”
Taking everything into consideration, the occasion was not only memorable for the King family, but also for the entire Cougars volleyball team.
For my part, I have a history of the military. The military holds a special place in my heart because my grandfather was a prisoner of war during World War II.
I believe that it was beneficial for the girls that we were all together as a team, both on the varsity and the junior varsity teams, and for them to be able to see that motion and to be able to relate to that and to see that it was really difficult for them.
The girls actually talked about it quite a bit. Hearing about Pulaski County’s efforts as a family is something that we talk about quite a bit, especially here at the school.
It was a great way to strengthen our team’s camaraderie and bring us closer together. Because you are aware of all that we do at the school. According to Minnick, “We make an effort to do it as a family, so that is important to us here.”
